Agile Leader Flags
According to the June 2024 IT Salary report, CIO magazine named the Certified Agile Leader (CAL) certification training the second most valuable and in-demand certification for IT professionals. CIO magazine’s recognition is a massive testament to Agile leaders’ excellent work in the field, and the industry recognizes the importance of Agile Leadership Skills.
I have been leading CAL certification courses in various forms for more than seven years, and since early 2021, we have been leading impactful virtual courses. Our courses are skill-building courses where leaders learn to dialogue with others, practice critical thinking skills through case studies, and improve their problem-solving skills.
A capstone activity of the course is for leaders to collaborate on designing and developing a flag for the Agile Leader. This is a 15-20-minute activity where participants summarize their collective understanding of leadership for organizational agility. The importance of leadership agility for enterprises shines through the participant conversations, which they then try to capture with an intentional selection of colors, shapes, and icons. And, of course, it is fun!
117 flags representing the Agile Leader since 2021.
These flags are heartwarming reminders of why I am passionate about enabling agile leadership. Knowledge work requires you to think and act like an executive, whether you play a strategic, operational, or tactical leadership role in your company.
Evolve Agility’s CAL 1 and CAL 2 training tracks are a jargon-free, real-world look into the practicalities of leadership agility. Join us for an upcoming CAL training course and experience the difference it can make in your career and your organization.
